Physical Education (PE)
At Woodgrove Primary, we are committed to nurturing every Woodgrovian to lead an active, healthy and meaningful life through quality movement experiences.

Our PE curriculum designed to be inclusive, engaging and learner-centred. Through inquiry, exploration and purposeful play, Woodgrovians are encouraged to discover movement concepts, solve movement challenges, collaborate with peers and reflect on their learning. Every Woodgrovian is empowered to experience success, persevere through challenges and develop a positive attitude towards physical activity.
Across the six primary years, Woodgrovians experience a comprehensive PE curriculum covering the key learning areas of:

Physical Education provides authentic opportunities for Woodgrovians to develop the Emerging 21st Century Competencies (E21CC). As they collaborate with peers, solve movement challenges and reflect on their learning, Woodgrovians strengthen their self-management, communication, collaboration, adaptability and resilience, equipping them with these essential competencies to thrive in school and beyond.
At Woodgrove Primary School, Physical Education is a natural platform for nurturing the school’s iGR³ACE values. Through movement experiences, games, sports and outdoor learning, pupils demonstrate Integrity by practising fair play and making responsible choices, Gratitude by appreciating opportunities to learn and encouraging others, Respect for teammates, opponents, officials and the environment, Resilience by persevering through challenges and setbacks, Responsibility by taking ownership of their learning, safety and actions, Adaptability by responding positively to new situations and solving movement challenges, Courage by stepping out of their comfort zones to try new activities and embrace challenges, and Empathy by caring for, encouraging and supporting others, especially in collaborative and inclusive learning experiences. Together, these values enable Woodgrovians to strive for excellence both on and off the field of play.
Key Woodgrovian Experience
Sports Carnival
The Sports Carnival is an annual school-wide event held in conjunction with the Children's Day celebrations. Through inclusive games, Woodgrovians experience healthy competition while demonstrating the iGR³ACE values in authentic settings. This event also provides opportunities for student leadership, collaboration and service, reinforcing the school's commitment to developing confident and caring individuals.

Sports Exposure Programme (SEP)
The SEP is a collaboration with SportsSG to promote sports and physical activities to our Woodgrovians. Conducted in conjunction with the school’s Learning Fest, every Woodgrovian participates in a unique sports experience beyond the regular PE curriculum. These programmes broaden pupils' exposure to different physical activities, strengthen movement competence, and encourage them to discover interests that support lifelong participation in sport and recreation.

SwimSafer
SwimSafer 2.0 is a national water safety programme in Singapore introduced in July 2010 by the National Water safety Council (NWSC). Swimming has also been included in the Physical Education Syllabus from 2012. Through progressive instruction, Woodgrovians develop water confidence, swimming competence and essential water safety knowledge that equips them to enjoy aquatic activities safely throughout life.

Primary 5 Outdoor Camp (A.C.E.)
Outdoor Adventure Camp extends pupils' learning beyond the classroom through authentic outdoor experiences aligned to the Outdoor Education learning area. Through activities such as orienteering, low-element challenges, high-element ropes courses and place-based activities, Woodgrovians develop resilience, teamwork and leadership while applying the E21CC competencies and living out the iGR³ACE values in meaningful and challenging environments.
