Art
At Woodgrove Primary School, we believe that every Woodgrovian can appreciate, create and express themselves through the visual arts.

Our Art programme aims to nurture visually literate, creative and confident learners who are able to communicate ideas, thoughts and emotions through art. Through meaningful art experiences, Woodgrovians develop creativity, imagination and aesthetic awareness while learning to appreciate artworks from Singapore and around the world. As they explore a variety of materials, techniques and art forms, they also build confidence, resilience, collaboration and critical thinking skills.
Throughout their six years in Woodgrove Primary School, Woodgrovians will:
develop visual literacy and artistic skills through hands-on artmaking;
explore and experiment with a variety of materials, tools and techniques;
express their ideas, thoughts and emotions creatively through art;
appreciate artworks from different cultures and contexts; and
grow in confidence by sharing and reflecting on their creative journey.
Our Three-Tier Learning Journey
Tier 1 – Experience
Every Woodgrovian experiences a rich and engaging Art curriculum through classroom lessons, museum-based learning, Arts Fiesta and school-wide art programmes. These authentic learning experiences develop creativity, visual thinking and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Tier 2 – Expose
Woodgrovians deepen their artistic experiences through interdisciplinary projects, school exhibitions, public displays and collaborative art installations. These opportunities encourage students to showcase their creativity, connect art with the community and develop confidence as young artists.

Tier 3 – Excel
Woodgrovians with passion and aptitude in Art are further nurtured through the school's Art Club and Talent Development Programme. They are provided with opportunities to participate in exhibitions and competitions such as various Art Competitions and external exhibition, allowing them to refine their artistic talents while growing in creativity, confidence and excellence.
