Music

Our Music programme aims to nurture confident, creative and collaborative learners who develop a lifelong appreciation for music. Through meaningful musical experiences, Woodgrovians build musical knowledge and skills while exploring music from Singapore and around the world. As they listen, create and perform, they also develop confidence, communication, creativity and teamwork.

Throughout their six years in Woodgrove Primary School, Woodgrovians will:

• develop musical knowledge and performance skills through listening, creating and performing;

• express themselves creatively through singing, movement and instrumental music-making;

• appreciate music from different cultures and traditions;

• build confidence and collaboration through shared musical experiences; and

• cultivate a lifelong enjoyment and appreciation of music.

Our Three-Tier Learning Journey

Tier 1 – Experience

Every Woodgrovian experiences a rich and engaging Music curriculum through classroom lessons, music assemblies and school-wide arts programmes. These authentic learning experiences develop musical understanding, creativity and confidence while fostering a lifelong love for music.

Tier 2 – Expose

Woodgrovians deepen their musical experiences through Music Busking, inter-class music competitions and digital music platforms. These opportunities encourage students to perform, collaborate with their peers and confidently share their musical talents with the school community.

Tier 3 – Excel

Woodgrovians with passion and aptitude in music are further nurtured through the school's Performing Arts CCAs and Talent Development Programme. They are provided with opportunities to participate in performances, community showcases and competitions such as Woodgrove Symphonies, the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation and other external platforms, allowing them to refine their musical talents while growing in confidence, resilience and excellence.
