iGROW
At the heart of the Woodgrovian Experience is the school’s signature iGROW Curriculum, which provides a coherent developmental thread for character and leadership development from Primary 1 to Primary 6.
iGROW is our own bespoke curriculum designed to guide Woodgrovians in their development at the different stages of their growth and learning, customising to their unique Woodgrovian Experience.
As Woodgrovians grow, their learning experiences are progressively deepened, from understanding and managing self, to building positive relationships and contributing with others, and eventually to exercising greater agency, responsibility and leadership. This progression supports the Woodgrove’s vision, particularly our aspiration for every Woodgrovian to embody good character and develop the competencies to lead self and others.
The iGROW Curriculum is supported by three companion books which the school authored: Learning to Shine, Striving to Shine and Thriving to Shine, which accompany Woodgrovians through their respective developmental stages. Through age-appropriate scenarios, purposeful discussions and reflection, students progressively strengthen their iGR³ACE values, social-emotional competencies, growth mindset, self-management, inclusivity and leadership competencies.
Four recurring Woodgrovian characters, Gopal, Rui En, Owen and Warda, grow alongside the students throughout their primary school journey. Through the characters’ experiences, challenges and choices, abstract values and social-emotional competencies become relatable and meaningful. Woodgrovians are encouraged to reflect on similar situations in their own lives and, importantly, to transfer their learning from lesson to everyday action.
Through iGROW and the broader Woodgrovian Experience, good character is understood, practised, applied and reinforced across the Total Curriculum.
